Cons of Stem Cell Research

Okay I barely found this out today but apparently to retrive an embryonic stem cell the host a.k.a the baby must be killed. This is the most controversial con of stem cell research because people argue that scientists who do this are murderers even though when the get the stem cells the embryo is still at an early stage of development and considered a blastocyst so it’s not technically murder. When I heard this the word ethics came into mind. Then I figured it’s not like people are having babies for expirementation. Stem Cells are gathered from people who are already having abortions which leaves me to have no problem at all with this I mean the parents already made the decision to kill their offspring so yeah…..

These cells all have a unique way of regeneration which gives them the ability to regenerate faster. Scientists belive with further research things like type 1 diabetes and heart disease. The unique things about stem cells are that they have no specialty such as a blood, muscle, or nerve cell. They also have an amazing ability to regenerate unlike any othe cell. The greatest ability is the ability to create specialized cells by a process called differentiation.

Aural Learning

After reading the article for aural learners I found out that it is not such a mystery that I recieved the results as shown in my previous post becaue as I read on about the aural learning style being that of the musical variety. Just the other day in my Recovery class our instructor taught us a jingle that would help us remember the formulas for math. I can’t reapeat it because it’s kind of lame but I found that it was the most effective way I could have learned it.

As shown my multiple learning styles are Logic-mathematical which I had concluded in a previous post .I was suprised to see that Aural was my highest score because I can play an instrument but have never used it in the learning process.

The fossil found in Germany has created quite a commotion in the scientific community. According to paleontologist Jorn Hurum “Ida” is a crutial part to the evolution of man or “the missing link”. “Ida”, known among the scientific community as Darwinius massillae.

As shown in the picture “Ida” has many primate like qualities such as opposable thumbs, grasping hands, and short limbs. Since the fossil was found in Germany scientists belive that Europe was an important place for primate evolution.

Multiple Intelligences

After reading this article,Theory Of Multiple Intelligences Wikipedia, I found out that my leaning types are that of the logical-mathematics group and I have to say I agree with this mainly due to the fact that I try to use logic in every aspect in my life. I enjoy doing calculations mentally and challenging myself with passtimes such as sudoku. The section that lists occupations that use these type of intelligences and I was suprised to see that doctor was on that list because bieng a doctor would be my first career choice.
